Intermediate Program
Grades 6 to 8
Building independence, confidence, and real-world learning
The Intermediate Program (Grades 6–8) supports students through a key stage of growth—where independence, identity, and confidence begin to take shape.
Through meaningful challenges, strong relationships, and personalized learning, students take ownership of their learning, think critically, and grow into capable, self-aware individuals ready for what comes next.
Project-Based Learning
Students engage deeply with real-world ideas through interdisciplinary, hands-on projects that spark curiosity and critical thinking.
As they grow in independence, they take increasing responsibility for planning, researching, and presenting their work—supported by educators who guide, challenge, and extend their thinking.
This approach builds creativity, collaboration, and confidence, while strengthening essential academic skills and a strong sense of purpose.
Language and Math
Our approach to language and math is rooted in the Ontario curriculum and personalized to each student’s pace and learning profile.
Students build strong foundations in reading, writing, communication, and mathematics while developing the habits and confidence needed for long-term success.
In math, we use Jump Math as our primary resource, supported by a range of enrichment tools to deepen understanding and meet each student’s individual learning needs.
Through a mastery-based approach, students strengthen problem-solving, critical thinking, and real-world application—while developing independence, organization, and the confidence to take ownership of their learning.
Leadership and Collaboration
As students grow in independence, they begin to understand their role within both the school and the wider community.
Through meaningful opportunities for leadership and collaboration, students develop responsibility, initiative, and confidence in their ability to contribute.
Students take part in a range of opportunities that align with their interests and strengths, such as joining the Student Council, participating in the Yearbook Committee, or supporting younger students during field trips and community events.
These experiences allow students to practice accountability, initiative, and collaboration in ways that feel meaningful and accessible.
Together, these experiences support students in becoming thoughtful, confident individuals who are prepared to lead, collaborate, and navigate new challenges.
